About the illustrator:
Maria Spekhova is the author of illustrations for the New Year's bestseller "Nigmas" - the fairy tale "The House with Magic Windows" and the humorous story "Lölishna from the Third Entrance". In 1984 she graduated from the Moscow Art School in memory of 1905, as well as the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (specialty "book graphics") in 1991. He considers Yu.G. Sedov, D.A. Vorontsov and B.N. Malinkovsky, a well-known illustrator in Soviet times, to be his main teachers. B.N.Malinkovsky worked in children's book publishing houses, in particular in "Kid". He was one of those artists who make up the glory of children's art illustration. He was friends with the "Three Musketeers": V.V. Pertsov, E.G. Monin, V.N. Losin. By his example he taught friendship, honesty, devotion to art.
Maria Spekhova says: “From childhood I loved to read and draw. I was very lucky - I continue to do what I love: to read books and illustrate them. side of the coin... We have an artistic family: husband, son, and son's wife are also book illustrators. This helps a lot in life and in creativity."
In addition to illustrating books, Maria Spekhova designs printed materials: booklets, posters, CDs, postcards, children's games.
Worked in publishing houses: Nigma, Olma-Press, Eksmo, Bustard, Bustard-Media, Dragonfly-Press, Onyx XX century, Terra, Rosmen, Atticus "," Boslen", "Red Steamboat", etc. Since 2003, he has been participating in book exhibitions of the Moscow Union of Artists. Maria Spekhova lives and works in Moscow.
