How to use the book?
📖 On the pages of the book, the history and plot of the musical work are revealed. The text of a book is a summary of a ballet/opera/play or story composed by the author to illustrate what is happening in a piece of music. Let's take Swan Lake as an example. The book begins with an introduction (overture) and the first act of the ballet: a celebration in the castle in honor of the birthday of Prince Siegfried, dances, a gift from the Sovereign Princess and a motherly order. Further, the second, third and fourth acts, as well as the finale of the ballet, are described in detail. For a better understanding, the entire text is accompanied by comments on dances and music; in addition, you can find interesting facts about musical instruments, heroes, etc. The whole story is colorfully illustrated. There are illustrations on every page and often take up a full spread.
📀 You can read the book, look at the illustrations and listen to music at the same time, because each book comes with a CD with interesting comments about dances, music, performers, instruments and heroes and, of course, excerpts from works performed by real orchestras from different countries! While reading books you will notice on the pages of notes with track numbers - this is done so that the young reader does not get confused. The numbers in the notes and the numbers of the tracks on the disc are the same: if the text refers to the prince's waltz, and on the page you see a mark with numbers 5-6, then when you open tracks 5-6 on the disc, you will definitely hear the melody of Siegfried's dance. CD in an envelope with a valve is glued to the flyleaf. In case you don't have a player, there is a QR code inside the book. This code leads to a site where you can download all the tracks in mp3 format. Each book has a page containing the contents of the disc.
🎧 In addition to music, there are audio comments on the disc - they complement the text of the book. Most often, audio comments alternate with melodies. For example, track #5 of "Swan Lake" is a commentary on the dance, and track #6 is the waltz itself. Or take a page from The Nutcracker with a decorated Christmas tree (and a note with the numbers 9 and 10). Track #9 is a story about the gifts that Clara and Fritz received and the box of dolls from Uncle Drosselmeyer (as well as a commentary on Drosselmeyer's theme music). Track number 10 is the accompanying music for these events. You can view the described pages and listen to the tracks for them in the examples below.
Happy reading and listening!
