How do you sleep?

One evening, just before the zoo closed, Nora the night monkey and her dad sat on top of a tree in their enclosure and watched the visitors flock to the entrance. "Dad, how do people sleep?" ? asked Nora suddenly. It turned out that dad did not know anything about it. Then a little curious monkey decided to talk to other animals: maybe they know more about human habits?

At dusk, Nora went on a trip to the zoo. She found out how bats and armadillos, sloths and hippos, flamingos and giraffes sleep. Nora even tried all their strange sleeping positions herself: hung upside down, curled up in a ball, stood on one leg and so on. Unfortunately, none of the animals had any idea about how a person sleeps.

But, in the end, a curious monkey managed to look into the lighted window of one of the nearby houses. Nora spied on how a human mother puts her child to bed, and this sight seemed to the monkey a real miracle! This is how she later described what she saw to dad: “Can you imagine? First they take off their day skin and put on their night one! Then the big man puts the little one in a special sleeping enclosure! And then, dad! Then the big man covers the little one with a white cloud!”
