Pharaoh Cigars

$27.00
This story begins on a cruise ship where Tintin meets the eccentric Philemon Cyclone, an Egyptology professor who dreams of finding the tomb of Pharaoh Khi-Osk. Tintin stands up for the scientist before the film mogul Rastapopoulos, and then drugs are planted in his cabin and the policemen Dupond and Dupont put him in the hold under arrest. Tintin manages to escape. On the shore, he meets the professor and joins his expedition. An ancient papyrus leads them to a tomb, the entrance to which is marked with the Khi-Oska sign. Exactly the same sign is on the cigar Milu found nearby. And in the tomb itself, Tintin discovers a whole warehouse of such cigars! And he also sees there sarcophagi with the mummies of scientists who tried to uncover the secret of the pharaoh. And among them are three empty ones - for Tintin, Milu and the professor, who, as if on purpose, disappeared somewhere ... So Tintin accidentally attacks the trail of an international organization of drug traffickers. Fate throws him first into the Arabian desert, and then to India, where he manages to neutralize the top of the gang, with the exception of the mysterious leader, who found death at the bottom of the gorge. But the story doesn't end there. Its continuation awaits us in the next volume of "Blue Lotus".
The Adventures of Tintin is a world-famous comic book series by the Belgian artist Georges Remy, who worked under the pseudonym Hergé. Investigating mysterious incidents, the young reporter Tintin finds himself in the "hot spots" of the planet, where important events take place. Hergé's stories are full of secrets, mysteries and unexpected twists. Danger lurks at every step of his hero. But thanks to ingenuity, courage and resourcefulness, Tintin emerges victorious from any troubles. And no matter what happens, his faithful friend is always nearby - the snow-white fox terrier Milu.
The comic "Pharaoh's Cigars" was published in 1934 and became the fourth adventure of Tintin. All Hergé's albums reflected the real political events of the time when these comics were created. To make it easier for the reader to understand who or what is behind some characters, objects, fictional countries and cities, habits and characteristics of the characters, we decided to open the door to Hergé's creative laboratory. For each volume, we have compiled detailed comments, linking them to a specific comic page and frame, for example, 1-2 means page 1, frame 2.
