Autumn is the third book in the "About big and small" series. The book includes three fairy tales: "A story over time, which, fortunately, turned out to be temporary", "A very scary story" and "Journey beyond the paper sheet."

In the first story, Felix, not wanting to part with a beautiful autumn day, decides to repeat it. To do this, he secretly sneaks into Bo's bedroom and at exactly midnight moves the alarm clock back, uttering a spell he invented himself. The next day, god knows what starts happening in the baby elephant's house! The paper castle, which the friends have glued and painted together all morning, before our eyes turns back into sheets of white paper; the vegetables that they peeled and cut together for soup become whole again, fly out of the pan and fit into the baskets. A button just sewn on comes off, a broken cup is collected without a single crack, and a flower that bloomed in the morning disappears on Bo's favorite cactus. In the end, Bo understands whose handiwork this is. At midnight, Felix moves the clock forward and casts a new spell. And he gives his word that experiments will no longer be carried out over time.

Bo discovers Felix at his house. He lies under the blanket and trembles with fear. The second night around his house someone walks! To catch the villain, on the outskirts of the house, friends ambush, but fall asleep, and in the morning they find cat tracks under Felix's windows. The tracks lead to the house of Maclay the cat. As soon as they see each other, Felix and Maclay faint, and when Bo brings them to their senses, it turns out that Maclay has been afraid of mice since childhood. To overcome this fear, he goes to Felix's house. Why at night? Yes, because Felix sleeps at night and cannot attack him.

Bo finds paints in his drawer and decides to become a Real Artist. But the only drawing he succeeds in is a portrait of a parrot with sly eyes and a bow tie. The parrot comes to life and leads his friends to the country of Colors, where he tells them about the secret of the white color, about the rainbow, about warm and cold colors, about colors. And he also teaches the elephant not just to look, but to see.

At the end of the book there is an article about the author - artist and storyteller Alena Chernaya. The heroes of her stories never get bored, and miracles happen to them in the most ordinary places: at home, on the street, in the park.

In 2019, the series "About Big and Small" won the "Image of a Book" competition in the "Author's Book" nomination.

Recommended for reading aloud to children ages 3 and up.
