Temple of the Sun

$29.00
Tintin and Captain Haddock arrive in Peru. They believe that Professor Tournesol is on board the cargo ship Pachacamac. However, upon arrival at the port, the ship is immediately closed for quarantine. Despite the warnings of the captain, Tintin enters the ship and finds the professor there, sleeping soundly. Tintin himself almost gets captured, but jumps overboard just in time. He sees the Indians ferry Tournesol to the shore and take the train inland. Our friends understand that the only chance to save the professor is to follow the kidnappers. The trouble is that this requires a guide, and the local population does not even want to talk with strangers. Fortunately, Tintin soon meets an Indian boy named Zorrino, who agrees to take them to the Temple of the Sun.

The format of the dilogy, tested by the “pirate” story (“The Secret of the Unicorn” and “The Treasure of the Red Rakkam”), turned out to be so successful that the next “Indian” adventure of Tintin (“7 crystal balls” and “Temple of the Sun”) Hergé also decided to make two-volume. In the Russian edition, both parts are marked with orange spines for convenience.

Hergé is the pseudonym of the Belgian painter Georges Remy (1907–1983), author of Tintin. The cycle about the adventures of a brave reporter with a perky tuft and his faithful friend the snow-white fox terrier Milu has been translated into 110 languages, is recognized worldwide as a classic of the comic book genre and still wins the hearts of readers from 10 to 99.
