The collection "Bruno the Bear in the Garden" continues a series of informative picture books created by the famous Swedish writer and illustrator Gunilla Ingves. The book includes two stories: "Bruno the Bear and Uffe the Earthworm" and "Bruno the Bear and Tippe the Grasshopper".
In the first story, Bruno the bear is walking in the garden and notices a strange pile of earth in a garden with radishes. Pushing it aside with his paw, he sees an underground passage. Here's how to get in there! An inquisitive bear, when he wants, can become small. How? This is his secret! Becoming a baby bear, he rolls underground and falls right on the earthworm Uffe. When Uffe comes to his senses from the shock, he shows the bear his possessions and introduces his springtail friends to him. And the bear saves the worm from the ferocious centipede and helps him replenish his food supplies. The bear then neatly enters his observations in a diary. Mishka's notes and drawings take up four pages: Uffe's underground possessions in a section, the way of life of earthworms, the structure of the body and the method of reproduction, their friends and enemies, as well as the benefits that they bring to the garden.
In the second story, Bruno the bear and Lolla the dog are sitting in the garden listening to the chirping of grasshoppers. Mishka is very curious how they make such music. He becomes the size of a grasshopper and meets Tippe. He shows the bear how they chirp, and together they go to look for Tippa's bride. At full speed, friends crash into a sticky web and almost become the prey of a poisonous spider. It's good that Lolla comes running in time and breaks the nets. They are free, but in the fall, Tippe loses one leg. Luckily, Tippe can still jump and chirp! The day ends with a merry wedding in the garden of Bruno the bear. As usual, the naturalist bear writes in his diary everything he saw and learned during this walk. Four pages are full of notes and drawings about Tippe's family of green grasses, their way of life, reproduction, friends and enemies.
Bruno's bear books with tender illustrations, many details on each page and charming characters teach children aged 3-6 to understand and love nature.
