Bear Bruno and his dog Lolla are the heroes of 4 picture books created by contemporary Swedish artist Gunilla Ingves. Each book is dedicated to one of the seasons - winter, spring, summer and autumn - and it describes one day in the life of the characters, filled with activities and entertainment "in season".
In the book "Bruno's Summer of the Bear", the bear and the dog have been working in the garden since morning: weeding, watering, fertilizing the beds, and mowing the grass. After work, they go to the river, swim, watch water striders and swimming beetles, then pick raspberries in the forest and even find snake skin on the path. And in the evening, friends receive guests and set the table in the garden.
The main story of the book is "framed" by notes from the diary of Mishka Bruno's observations. They contain a lot of sketches and informative information from the natural world of a certain time of the year.
The first diary spread of "Bruno's Summer of the Bear" is devoted to gardening: how to properly prepare fertilizer from nettles, where exactly is it better to mow the grass and why earthworms are needed. The second spread is devoted to migratory birds, insects and reptiles, which can be found in the summer in our strip.
