The village pigeon Gulya soared freely in the blue sky, breathed clean air, ate plenty and was not going to change anything in his life, until one day a storm threw one lively sparrow into his barn. Chiv, that was the name of a new acquaintance, did not understand how it was possible to vegetate in the village. He praised the charms of city life so much that Gulya decided to go with him to Megapolis. But nothing good came of it. In the city, Gulya learned that one has to fight for food and the best piece always goes to the one who is stronger. He was almost killed by a demolition crane and almost got a cat for dinner. Seven sparrows brought him home on an old wire hanger, because his wing was damaged and he himself could not fly. Sparrows came out of a sick dove, and so they remained to live with him in an abandoned barn full of holes in the middle of fields and meadows, where there are no enemies, and the food itself jumps into its beak. A story about how important it is to learn to appreciate what you have.
